The MediaView class, which acts as a bridge between the scene graph and any visual media that needs to be displayed within it. MediaView isn t needed to play audio-only media, because sound isn t displayed in the scene graph. The MediaPlayer class, which controls how the media is played; for example, stopping, restarting, skipping forward or backward, slowed down or sped up. MediaPlayer can be used to control audio or video. Important: MediaPlayer merely permits programmatic control of media; it provides no actual UI controls (figure 6.10 is symbolic). If you want play/pause/stop buttons, you must provide them yourself (and have them manipulate the MediaPlayer object). The Media class, which encapsulates the actual video and/or audio data to be played by the MediaPlayer.

Practice 1: Use Event Viewer Event Viewer is a powerful tool that can provide you with a great deal of information about what is happening on a computer. Look at the contents of the Windows logs. Become familiar with some of the more common events and what they indicate. If you know the Event IDs of events that are of interest, you will find this helps you create custom views quickly and easily. Experiment with custom views. Practice 2: Use Task Manager Although Task Manager mainly provides snapshots of performance and closes crashed applications, this tool has other features, particularly linked to processes and services, which you will find very useful when you become familiar with them. Even if the attack fails, investigate the attack pattern to detect possible patterns that may lead to additional attack attempts.
